Description
This abstract composition presents a layered blend of earthy tones—greens, browns, and yellows—interwoven with delicate, hand-drawn botanical elements that add subtle contrast. Textured patches and splashes of paint create a dynamic sense of depth, while occasional hints of text break through to introduce an urban touch. The interplay between organic lines and geometric shapes conveys a tension between nature and structure. A distinctive piece to enhance any contemporary interior with quiet complexity.
Personal note from the artist:
“It’s spring fever. That’s what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want – oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
– Mark Twain
“Spring fever” is one of a series of 3 paintings inspired by spring – with a nod to my husband’s constant battle with the invasive weed angelica.
The original is a layered mixed media work on a deep cradled wood panel. Media includes acrylic, collage, charcoal, graphite, ink (and perhaps some others I’ve forgotten in the heat of the moment!).
